I'm Engaged Bitches!!!

Just thought that I'd let those of you know who maybe don't have my Facebook and/or Twitter account or maybe aren't a member of the Rainbow Writers & Readers group on Goodreads something that I already shared with them:

I proposed to Daniel A. Kaine (yes, the author of "Dawn of Darkness") and he said:

                                                YES!!!

He hasn't told me when we're getting married yet (although if I had my way, when he gets off the plane in March I'd be marching him over to a church to get married right then), but when I know something I will let you know so you can all celebrate with us.

So yeah, I'm engaged now bitches!!! (And I say that in the sweetest way possible)

Why Meditation is Now Masturbation

Check out this blog post by my friend and big sister, fellow author Cherie Noel, the author of the awesome The Soldier and the State Trooper as well as Kiss and Tell which was a part of the Hot Summer Days Anthology on Goodreads.  It will make you laugh and make you think as well when it comes to writing and researching the male orgasm when writing M/M or even M/F romance and fiction and completely redefine the word "meditation" for you as well.

Blog Pimpage

So I met an awesome girl named Kathleen through a thread on Goodreads.  She has this thing that she does on her blog called "Friday First Kisses."  She and I have been talking and she decided to write this week's FFK with a trans character.

Woohoo!!!

So go to her blog and read it.  I got to read it a few days ago and it is AH-MAH-ZING!

I've also decided to pimp a blog every Friday.  To show my support.  So much as I do on Twitter for the #FollowFriday I'm going to do "Blog Pimpage" either every Friday or every other Friday and if not a blog then an author or a person or an artist....yes.

And it shall be named: FRIDAY'S PIMPAGE!!!!

That's AWESOME!

Alright, anyway  here's the link to Kathleen's blog and the title of the "Friday First Kisses" post with the trans character is called "Perfect" starring Jesse and Leo: http://khayes54.livejournal.com

My New Author Blog

So I've decided to separate my author blog from my personal blog.  I've been thinking about it for a while, but I finally decided to go for it.

So this blog will no longer be linked to my Goodreads account and for any information about my books and excerpts and all of that it's going to be on:

http://vic-vee.blogspot.com

But all of my personal "Vic-ness" will be on here.  But the author V. Vee is going to be on the above page.

So now you know!

I'M BACK BITCHES!!!

So this isn't going to be a normal "Vic" post but I just wanted to let you all know that I am back from New Orleans.  Got here safely.  Had a ton of fun in New Orleans (there are people with photographic evidence to back that up-LOL), there was a few bad moments, but they were separate from GRL and totally connected just to me, but I was rescued by a Greyhound attendant (I'll blog about Dre' tomorrow) who is now one of my "boys."  There was only one very bad, horrible, heartbreaking moment at GRL when I was insulted by an author in front of everyone, but *shrugs* I found out that I have so many friends and now new sisters, mothers, brothers, to back me up that the sting from that hurt, that rejection, that insult and humiliation was almost completely erased.  Almost.

Anyway.  I'm back in Florida and already making plans to save up money for next year's GRL in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in October (18-21: Hard Rock Cafe Casino & Hotel).  I want ALL OF YOU to come so start saving up your money now!!  If you do $50 a month you'll have $600 saved up by October. Everyone can do atleast $50 a month right?  And you won't even NEED that much!  LOL.  Well unless you plan on shopping.....

Anyway, I'll blog tomorrow about GRL and post the pictures I took and some from others, tell you about Dre' from Greyhound, and even about getting my heart broken by an author I used to enjoy.

I did miss you guys, I miss my family from GRL now though. {sad face}

Here's a poem that TangledO from Goodreads sent to me.  It made me cry (but in a good way).  Enjoy!

"How to Make Love to a Trans Person"
by Gabe Moses

Forget the images you’ve learned to attach
To words like cock and clit,
Chest and breasts.
Break those words open
Like a paramedic cracking ribs
To pump blood through a failing heart.
Push your hands inside.
Get them messy.
Scratch new definitions on the bones.

Get rid of the old words altogether.
Make up new words.
Call it a click or a ditto.
Call it the sound he makes
When you brush your hand against it through his jeans,
When you can hear his heart knocking on the back of his teeth
And every cell in his body is breathing.
Make the arch of her back a language
Name the hollows of each of her vertebrae
When they catch pools of sweat
Like rainwater in a row of paper cups
Align your teeth with this alphabet of her spine
So every word is weighted with the salt of her.

When you peel layers of clothing from his skin
Do not act as though you are changing dressings on a trauma patient
Even though it’s highly likely that you are.
Do not ask if she’s “had the surgery.”
Do not tell him that the needlepoint bruises on his thighs look like they hurt
If you are being offered a body
That has already been laid upon an altar of surgical steel
A sacrifice to whatever gods govern bodies
That come with some assembly required
Whatever you do,
Do not say that the carefully sculpted landscape
Bordered by rocky ridges of scar tissue
Looks almost natural.

If she offers you breastbone
Aching to carve soft fruit from its branches
Though there may be more tissue in the lining of her bra
Than the flesh that rises to meet it
Let her ripen in your hands.
Imagine if she’d lost those swells to cancer,
Diabetes,
A car accident instead of an accident of genetics
Would you think of her as less a woman then?
Then think of her as no less one now.

If he offers you a thumb-sized sprout of muscle
Reaching toward you when you kiss him
Like it wants to go deep enough inside you
To scratch his name on the bottom of your heart
Hold it as if it can-
In your hand, in your mouth
Inside the nest of your pelvic bones.
Though his skin may hardly do more than brush yours,
You will feel him deeper than you think.

Realize that bodies are only a fraction of who we are
They’re just oddly-shaped vessels for hearts
And honestly, they can barely contain us
We strain at their seams with every breath we take
We are all pulse and sweat,
Tissue and nerve ending
We are programmed to grope and fumble until we get it right.
Bodies have been learning each other forever.
It’s what bodies do.
They are grab bags of parts
And half the fun is figuring out
All the different ways we can fit them together;
All the different uses for hipbones and hands,
Tongues and teeth;
All the ways to car-crash our bodies beautiful.
But we could never forget how to use our hearts
Even if we tried.
That’s the important part.
Don’t worry about the bodies.
They’ve got this.

Inconceivable: Book Two of the Tate Pack Series is NOW Available!!

Blurb:

Tommy Wilkins, a.k.a. "Tammy Walks" was happy with his life as one of the highest paid drag queen performers in New York City. He had a gorgeous apartment in Greenwich Village, men throwing themselves at his feet and he had lots of money in the bank. He didn't need the family that shunned him, the boyfriend that used to beat the hell out of him or even the gorgeous sexy linebacker looking Texan cowboy, named Anton "Ton" Forrester, that his friend Richard introduced him too. All he needed was himself.

But Ton wasn't going to give up so easily because you see, Tommy is his mate, and he wants all of him, makeup, heels, dresses and costumes included. He wants to heal every scar and make the smaller man believe in love again.

There's only one problem, someone is determined to keep the two men apart, even if they have to kill Tommy to do so.

SCREAM

Yeah there is a girl in my head screaming.  She's been at it since I typed the words: The End on my first M/M Romance book: "Passion's Hero: The Alpha King" and emailed it to a friend to read before I submit it for possible publishing.

No matter how many times someone tells me I'm a good writer I always freak out over my writing.  I write and write and write, because the story and characters play out in my mind and I can't sleep until I get them down on paper, but then when I go and read it back I'm usually shaking my head and saying "This sucks!  It's so dry and boring.  Why the hell would I write this?  Nobody will read this.  It's stupid."

You know that saying that says you're your own worst critic?  Well I've got that in spades.  It's why I've got like five finished books and I just tote them around with me.  I tell people about them.  I read portions of them to people, but that's it.  I even gave one of my books to my aunt to read and edit and her words to me were "It's so good that I forgot I was supposed to be editing, I'll go back and edit it this time."

That should encourage me right?  Even with "Unthinkable," I've gotten compliments on here and on GR (I didn't even realize that there were members in the M/M Romance Group who were reading it) about it, and while it lightens my heart I keep hearing the voice of my 9th grade Creative Writing teacher, Mrs. Harris in my head: "Veronica, you're a very pretty young woman.  You're a beautiful dancer, your voice is amazing and I've seen you act and you're great, but your writing is dull, boring, your characters lifeless and I say with kindness that you shouldn't seriously consider writing as a career."

And I mean, the woman was a miserable person, but she was a Creative Writing teacher, she would know Creative Writing right?  So, I take these small steps and I test the waters.  Each time I do anything I scream silently and want to take that step back, but once it's been done, it can't be undone.

So I sent my first M/M book to a friend to read, I'm nervous, to the point of wanting to vomit, but I feel good because I took another step and for me it's a big step.  I think I'll just be one of those soldiers who run screaming into battle instead of stalking silently up behind the enemy.
